HOW TO USE SURF CAMERA

Never loose your waterproof camera

Directions: (approximately 3 to 5 minutes)

  1. The best location for the 2 ¼” squared attachment is having the top edge of it either at your collarbone to about a ½” down. You want it high on your chest.
  2. With your wetsuit on look into a mirror and place the female attachment (with the case locked on) in the position of step 1. Find a marker to mark across the bottom of the female attachment while the open edge of the Surf Camera case is about even with the center of your chest. Make sure your mark is horizontal and straight. This does not have to be perfect.
  3. Take your wetsuit off and place the female attachment (case unattached) where you made your mark and use a nail or an ice-pick to poke a pin hole from the outside of your wetsuit, where one of the screw holes are (either side) of the female attachment. On the inside of your wetsuit mark around the nail before you pull it out.
  4. Take the back-plate part of the attachment, place one of the screws thru it, then from the inside of your wetsuit push that screw thru the nail mark you just made. The pin hole will be very small so you might have to screw it thru.
NOTE: Once you tighten everything down, the two pin holes in your wetsuit will be sealed.
  1. Place the female attachment over your screw you just pushed thru on the outside and secure it with the nut without tightening it down yet.
  2. Align the female attachment with your mark and pin the nail through the other screw hole of the attachment, and follow steps 3 and 4.
  3. Secure it down with the 2nd nut and lightly tighten both nuts. Do not over tighten.
  4. Now place the case onto the female attachment at 90 degrees and rotate into place.
  5. Using the lanyard that comes with your camera, cut off the thicker string then lace it through the orange float handle and your camera. You can use any rigid string that's thin enough to thread through the camera lanyard eyelet. Tie it together as short as possible with a square knot. (square knots are easy to untie) then cut off the excess and burn the cut string tips to prevent fraying. This will also make your camera more stable while shooting when the orange float is in the palm of your hand with slight tension pulling on the camera as your fingers are gripping the camera.
I like to take the cut string tips and the knot and tuck into the hole of the float handle.
  6. Take the yo-yo pull string and clip it onto the lanyard.

You’re ready to Surf-N-Shoot!!!

Tips:

1) Always check your gear for wear & security before your surf session.

2) Quickly eject your camera from the case by snapping your wrist back as you pull.

3) For user tips or inputing tips of your own, check out our forum at SurferShot.

MAKE SURE YOU PLACE YOUR CAMERA ALL THE WAY IN PAST THE INSIDE BEAD LOCKS BEFORE YOU DUCKDIVE OR SURF!
– If you’re too late bail your board and hold onto your camera (the yo-yo will hold but don’t rely too much on it).
